I think this bird is a Swainson's Thrush, but I just wanted confirmation from some experts. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Julie,
I somehow missed this post last week!
Looks "Swainson-ish" to me....But large breast spots almost say "Wood Thrush"....yet, on the other hand, the eye-ring looks "buffy" (Swainsons).... do you have any other pics showing the wings or back? Swainson's would be more grayish-brown than either Hermits or Woods. (as you can probably tell, Thrushes are not my strong-suit..... I even "fell for it" when some friends told me they had spotted some "Red-Breasted Thrushes".... aka, Robins! )

Hi Sandy. Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, this is the only pose I have of the bird. The eye ring and buffy face led me to the ID, but I did wonder about those big spots myself. It seems that the Wood Thrush has a brighter breast and face than does Swainson's.

Looks like a Swainson's to me. The big, buffy eyering says it all.
