Theme Winners! - Dave Phillips Tribute

Wow! What an amazing array of images for this theme. I'm really sorry I didn't have time to participate myself. I noticed several people commenting on how hard it is to comment on images for this theme; and I have to say it's even harder to judge it. There are so many wonderful images bringing back fond memories of Dave's own creative genius that it seems almost pointless to try to rate one as better than another. Here are my favorites from this theme, but I have to say all the images are winners and I know Dave would have loved every one of them.


First Place - A Tear in the Aorta - Jackie Schuknecht
A very creative and out of the box image! Just the sort of thing that Dave loved to do.

Second Place - King of the Backyard Birds - Judy Howle
Love the pose and colors of this one. The painterly feel and BG reminds me a lot of Dave's images.

Third Place - Tie
Tribute to Dave - Randall Farhy
It's uncanny how this image looks like Dave's own frog images. I especially like the little plants on the frog's face.

Bronzed Coot - Judy Howle
Dave loved his coots, so I just had to mention this one. A perfect tribute to him.

Congratulations, Jackie on an image Dave would have loved. Congrats also to Judy and Randall and everyone who posted theme images. It's nice to keep Dave's spirit alive here on the forum even for people who weren't here in OOTB while Dave was alive. Thanks, Christopher, so much for judging.
