I captured this image at Merritt Island NWR last December. The crop is about 50%, normal processing in Lightroom 5.

    I can almost tell a D7000 shot from a mile away !
Love the curve on the perch . Great detail too.

Neat perch and beautiful BG. It almost looks like it is about to use it as a swing Vertical comp is OK. I would have preferred a better head angle and also wish the light was more frontal on the subject. I am seeing some noise on the plumage. Keep them coming!

Agree with Daniel on the noise amount in the bird and the perch. A bit of of a better head turn would had been perfect.

But great job in getting the image. Your set up was my main setup like a year ago. I still have my D7000, great camera.

Good camera work, nicely exposed and sharp. The IQ is degraded from the large crop as you're aware. The perch really makes this image for me, and I think you did a great job of getting this little bird without a setup perch. If only he'd turned his head a bit would have helped as well.

Nice background and clean shot. I like the perch as well.

    A very nice image.
I am OK with the head position . I like the comp . really like the clear eye and the catchlight.
I would do another round of NR on the BG. It looks like you did NR on the perch as well and I would "undo" that as it make the branch look weird( especially on the right side).
The angle of the light hurt you a bit here and I am wondering if you lifted the shadows on the back and tail of the bird thus introducing noise in the bird?

Agree on the noise, seems a bit bright though I do favor darker shots, another grand shot none the less.

I like the curved perch, composition and BG. Repost is an improvement. Nice image Joe.
