    Very nice Karl.
I really like the side/back lighting as well.
I like the splayed wing and the slight amount of blur present.
The shadowing above the eye makes it look like the owl has eyebrows!

    Another Great snowy.
It is really helpful to somone like me who is still leaning to see so many different ways of capturing the same subject. It really makes you think which ones you prefer and why. Love the nice clear view of the eyes on this one.
There should be a snowy owl of the week contest!

This is one of your best, Karl, and quite a bit different than all of the other snowies we've seen. Love the pose, that straight on stare and the side lighting. Interesting point brought up by Gail on the eyebrows.

This is a bit different Karl, cool wing position and I like the snow at the bottom.

I am loving the side lighting, which we don't see often. It is a great shot!
