One more from my trip last week. I don't mind sacrificing frames per second to get the 36MP detail of the D800. Heading to South Texas in the am for two weeks in the 80 degrees :-)

Hi Alan, great action in sweet light and superb sharpness. The talons are just icing on the cake.

nice shot Alan, I love the view of talons and good exposure too. I have to say though this one doesn't quite have your usual crisp quality, I see noise on the underwing and parts of tail and overall detail is a a tad coarse. did you have to sharpen too much in post? it's still a great frame.

    A very intense action image.
I am not loving this crop though. Feels off for some reason although I admit it leads the eye straight to those amazing talons.
Is this a big crop? I see some noise on the tail and the IQ is very good- just not "Alan Murphy" good!

Hi Alan, love the details of the talons. I see a little bit of noise that Arash referred to, but for me this is a lovely frame. I'm thinking a square crop might show these talons better. TFS. Loi

Great action shot, nice showing the talons, Alan. Love the light and the expression on the face.

I think the talons, feather detail and the look in the eye are what makes this one so nice, Grand job indeed. If you don't mind, how close were you?

Thanks Arash, I agree with you. Not the sharpest image in my flies.

Thanks Gail, this is about 70% of the frame.

Hey Bret, I was probably 20 feet away from the bird.
