Default Snowy Owl in Golden Light

Same owl in Ottawa with Daniel. We were fortunate to have the owl at the very end of the day with the golden light.

The owl is bathed in golden light, but the snow was very much blue. So i decided to leave the WB "as shot" in LR5, resulting in a golden owl and a blue snow, then applied a warming filter to the snow to warm it up a bit. I think this is fairly close to what we saw with our naked eye.

Nice Loi. Glad you got some good shots in Canada. This is really nice and the light looks great. The pose and the snow flying up looks great. The well lit eyes and the perfect exposure make for a real keeper.
Only thing that could be better would be a better HA and left wing position. Well done.

    Great Image Loi.

You captured a nice moment and the exposure and sharpness look perfect. I think this is one of your best.

Killer take off pose and love that spray of snow. I think you can improve on your crop to make this an even more powerful image. Maybe some off of the bottom and right and a tad more on the left.

Beautiful shot, it is not often that the whites look so good in the "golden light", the snow is very nice, Grand job!

I like the snow trailing off the talons, details, exposure and light. I agree with Marina's composition suggestion. Well done Loi!
