This species is a West Coast species.
This has been only the second bird I have seen in the last fifteen years and it hangs out right where I live.
It is very hard to get a shot of her as she is hiding all the time.
I did some clean up in the background to make the image presentable.
I planned to go out this morning but the temperature was -28 degrees Celsius (-18.4 F)
    so I did not.
    Thanks for looking.

Great bird to have in your area! Love the colours and fluffed up pose. Nice thin perch. I do like the inclusion of berries in the image but wish they were not overlapping the subject. Any work done around the bill?

Any time a member of the thrush family other than a robin over-winters here in Ottawa (usually Hermit Thrush) they are attracted to suet remnants fallen to the ground. Perhaps you could entice it this way?

Beautiful little bird and I like the colors Karl. The exposure looks good but I feel the detail needs a bit more sharpening and wish the berry wasnt in front of the bird, but for as rare as it is to you, congrats on getting it. Well done

Killer bird and details. Agree with Dan wishing the berries weren't overlapping. Are the whitish feathers on the chest supposed to be white or bluish. I think there may be a blueish or greenish cast in the white feathers.
