    Very sharp, good exposure, nice light, and I like the composition, Lesley. I would wish the the bird's head was turned a bit more this way. The 5 OOF light brown spots along the upper and right edges of the frame tend to draw my eye from the bird. These could be easily removed, if you as so inclined.

    Lesley,
    As stated already, this is a very sharp well exposed image of an interesting subject.
    The little Grebe being all wet is a bonus.
    I agree about the head angle however the brown areas don't bother me.
    IMO a composition with a little more room around the subject would make this a stronger image.
