What a beautiful Bird! Amazing Colors and pretty sharp too. Love the pose and the "crest"

Too Big in the frame for me but like it as presented. The bird seems centered , I would take some off the left of the frame and add some space in front of the bird's beak. I would alsorun another round of NR (May be its just my monitor)

Gorgeous light and nice detail on that head and crest. I love the wet look as well. I wish for a little more dof down to the feet but still nice as presented.

    Remarkable Close up.
A bit better perch would have been over the top.

This is lovely. The raised crest is beautiful.
Love the light and the BG.
For my personal taste it is a bit tight in the frame. I would like 10% more canvas on right and bottom.
    Excellent image,

    Thanks for the comments.
The perch had loose bark at the bottom, removed about 5 %. Removed about 5% on L hand side. No extra space on R side.

Hi Ben, lovely pose, and you have nailed the colours. It looks like you were prety close, as he is large in the frame, but the DOF works in the right places. Yes to a little more space below, and some off the LHS.

Awesome bird with lots of details. That raised crest is superb! Nice light too. If this is a setup then you had a bit too much focal length and removing the TC would have been best. If you chanced upon it well, this happens sometimes with no time to fiddle with gear!

Thanks for the comments. The Malachite was staying in the reeds and suddenly decided to move closer and I only got 6 shots in one burst. No time to remove TC.
