This image of a drake ring-necked duck was taken from a blind on a woodland pond at the end of the day as the light was rapidly diminishing. After some rotation and squaring off the frame edges, this is full frame. 40D, 500 f/4 +1.4x, 1/200, f/5.6, ISO 400. I selected the eye in PS and darkened the pupil. Comments are welcome.
Excellent over-the-shoulder COMP & d-o-f.. Great light and detail in the darks. Cropping the sliver of head REFL would--I believe--be a big improvement.

I like the hint of "ring" showing on the neck. The reflection is cut awkwardly mid-bill...I'd crop to just above said bill just to give it a cleaner finish.
