A bit big in the frame I know but must admit I liked it at the time .Soil on the beak from digging tunnels.

Hi Keith, I like the pose with the beak running along the line of the perch. The colours are spot on, and I like the moss covered perch. I wouldnt mind more space below, but you probably dont have it. These guys are really small, arent they.

I agree with Stuart. A bit more of room around will help. It seems a bit to tight.

Thanks Stuart & Raybel I was up close to these birds with a 500ml that just about filled the frame ,not leaving myself much to play with.

Agree with self critique Keith, but I like it also. These are magnificent looking birds and you captured the Kingfisher personality. Love the sharp details.

Hi Keith, agree it is a little 'big in frame' but you have good detail, sharpness & clarity. If you get the opportunity again, then the D4 and 300 should be good based on the 500 being too close. Like the mossy perch, very cool & natural, just wished for more space below and to the right, BKG works with no distracting elements.

Killer detail and colors in this shot Keith. The pose , perch and BG are great too. Even if you clloned a little bit below would be a big improvement on a great shot

Thanks guys ,David I have lots of shot's of this bird and have tried adding canvas ,cloning ect without success. Pleased that I was able to keep the natural look which I try to get without the bird looking over processed
