    Default Superb Fairywren (Malurus cyaneus)

    G'day, haven't done much birding lately, been busy with work and family.. anyway lookin' through a few pictures from the past.. this was taken at Western Treament Plant in Werribee Australia 12/7/13 at 6.30am..
    5d mk iii, 500mm mk ii, 1.4 x iii, hand held.. f/5.6, iso 800.. 1/800

    Hi Mervyn,you have done very well to get this bird out in the open and get such a nice BG,I always think that the feathering on these birds looks almost artificial and difficult to get to look right ,yours certainly does, beautiful image.

    Brings back memories of my time over there looking for these super little birds.

    Lovely shot. Love the overall feel and the sense of place that comes from some texture in the background. Hoping to see these when I head out that way this June.

    Great little birds. I too have been invited over there by some friends in Perth. Might make it- who knows.
    Lovely shot. maybe the vegetation below the bird a little bright. maybe my monitor.
