Ruff time finding it.

I got quite a few shots of this Ruff in more normal poses but liked this different one.

Nikon D7000 300mm F4 AF. 1/640sec F4 ISO 800. Slight crop and levels in Lightroom.

Hi Iain,good for you with this pose it's different which appeals to me, suppose where all taught that we must see the eyes which is right but it's good to see a bird in a different pose. I like it!

Interesting! I find myself drawn right to the tip of his beak to see what he's finding in that dirt. That said, I would crop in tighter as that mud is ugly!!

Thanks for the comments. I guess the mud doesn't really add to the image and I hadn't really though about that when processing it.
