Default Snowy Owl On A (N)ice Perch.

When this Snowy Owl landed on this small ice protrusion I had not even seen it sticking out of the snow before hand. It made for a pretty cool (no pun intended) photo op with an awesome view of the large talons! I got down very low to get some grey distant tree-line behind the head but also took some from a higher vantage point for an all-white version. A have a slight preference for this one...

Another good one. Nothing much to say. They have all been wall hangers. The claws showing makesa big difference to this one.

Great image, Daniel. The distant tree lines make the snowflakes visible which is a really nice touch.
All in all it's a beauty.

Another superb image Daniel. I agree with Karl that the dark patch with snowflakes makes the image.

Hi Daniel, beautiful bird nicely shown. Great capture on the ice perch. My only thoughts on the image is wondering if there is more detail that can be pulled out of the white face, but not ever having photographed one I do not know if the face has feather detail.

Can't add much to what's already been said. So many elements work to make this a beautiful image. The eyes are riveting.

Dan, this is so COOL :-) you did extremely well with the angle, the exposure and comp. you seem have made the default ISO on your 7D as 800 and I like the way you get such superb IQ.
