Yes but has anyone seen any NEW lenses or bodies being trialed at the games?

Canon do not really need any new lenses or bodies at this time. the 1DX and MKII lenses have dominated sports photography by a wide margin. Out of the Japanese camera makers Canon is doing well with their camera business while outlook for others, especially Sony is gloomy. This is from Canon's own publication admittedly but according to them 75% of the professional photographers in the press area used Canon for the Super Bowl

For their profit base, maybe they don't need any new bodies, Arash. For those of us waiting patiently for an updated crop-sensor body, they do need one.

There is really no market for that. a few people might like it but in terms of revenue it will be very small for them...

The Getty images photogs put all their equipment together and took at shot. It was all 1D X bodies, except for 3 5D MkIIIs..

I saw a 4x teleconverter in the list. I have read that teleconverters, while adding the telescopic boost, also are just another layer of glass and so hurt the sharpness. Any opinions about this? How to compensate?

Hazel, I don't know about the 4X TC, but the Canon 1.4x and 2.0x TC-III have excellent IQ. No compensating is required.
