    While patiently waiting for incoming Common Mergansers far up a local frozen river, this Great Blue Heron lands in front of me skidding and kicking up small beads of ice. C&C always welcome.

    D3s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4x, 1/320, f7.1, ISO 400, Gotzo series 5 Tripod, Wimberley Gimbal Head.

    Geoffrey, the techs are good. I would be inclined to crop some off viewers' right to move him a bit out of the center. I think it could use a bit more sharpening as well.

    I agree with Ian and also would like another inch more crop room on top..That is a landing that I would wait for-what fun
