These birds fly in from Scandinavia to Scotland for the berries. There hasn't been much of them around, this winter, so, I was glad when I came across this little beauty

William, nice pose and sharp. Good DOF. Good job. I guess my nit would be the shading on the face. It would be nice to have a catchlight in the eye (possibly a little fill flash would have done the trick).
(oh ... and for some reason, your link allows one to scroll through multiple other images ... I'm not sure what happened there)

Hey William, this is a huge step forward from previous postings, looks like certain things have 'clicked'!
Slightly lower, looking more up may have been better, likewise moving more to the right (if possible) to have no distracting elements in the BKG and just that nice blue sky? Perhaps a little more DoF, a bit more light on the eye, but... As I said, a big step forward and you can't do everything in one go, so you just need to keep building, looks like the lens is doing good.
Ian highlight what I referred to in the previous thread.

Thanks Steve, the birds were in a tree, which was quite abundant with leaves and berries, and it was difficult to get the bird out in the open, but i took about 200 pics, so, hopefully, when I look through them all, I will find others which are better.
Love the lens, makes a great difference

Very nice. More light on the face would be good -- easy to do with a masked adjustment layer. It feels tight on the composition to me -- maybe worthwhile to revisit the crop.

I think it looks fantastic....they are a beautiful bird. I have been seeing a few in my backyard but thus far...no photos.
The only thing I think would significantly improve the image would be a highlight in the eye.

Hi William
I agree that a little more light on the head would be good. Overall a very nice image of this lovely bird.

I really like these birds with their earth tones and snappy coloration. In addition to what other's have noted-I'd remove and or minimize the hotspots on the red berries- I find them to be a little harsh.
