Saw an opportunity here to remove my TC and photograph this female GHO watching over two chicks in the nest. The sun was just setting, and I liked how she planted herself in the fork of the branches.

Sweet image Marina. I love the feel of this image - although it is against the sky it still works IMO because of the great pastel colours from the sweet light - very nice!

Great eye for composition by taking that tc off and seeing wide. Very beautiful result in sweet light.

Beautiful light , comp. and details. A great environmental image. Placement of the owl is perfect for this type of image.

Marina, I love the frame made by the fork in the tree as well as the large FOV. Light is gorgeous.

Love that last minute light, looks beautiful on the owl. Lots of feather detail for the small size in frame and I like the framing of the perch. Nice work Marina

This image is all about the light. The owl is wonderful and placed well in the frame.
IQ and techs are spot on.
I will be the odd one out here and say that I am not crazy about the perch. Purely a personal taste issue and I feel bad even saying it...
I would love to see what you got with the TC on!!

As others have written... sweet image, great evening light. Wondering if it was the Great Horned Owl at Ft. Desoto?

What for a wonderful image. The composition, sky, perch and owl, works stunning in the evening light. Great eye contact and details. Well done, Marina.

HI Marina, I really like this and its a good example of thinking about composition when sometimes we think its better to get as close as we can using a teleconverter. I think its a great way to think as a wildlife photographer.

I love the light on this one and and composition is perfect. What a cool stare, too. I am hoping I get to see my favorite Lake Toho GHO next month when I photograph with Jim Neiger.
