Default Snow Buntings Weathering the Storm

It was quite blizzardy last weekend with lots of whiteout conditions. A small flock of Snow Buntings were braving the elements and coming closer and closer to the road in search of food. Here, a trio from that flock brace themselves as a strong gust of wind pushes through...

Hello Daniel, another very nice shot. Not sure how you managed to pull the detail and colors that you did in the blizzard/whiteout you dealt with, plus you were out in it getting the shot. I guess one has to do so to get such a fine shot. This would make a great card or even better fit very well on the nicest of walls, Grand job it is.

I agree with Bret. My first thought was for a card.
(Loved the Bob Seiger track with the country/rock piano fills:)

    I'm with Bill ... wall >> card :)

Please tell me you were at least in the "comfort" of your car! Looks cold out there! I could see a 16:9 crop for this one.

I'm with Bill. Why card? This looks like a Chinese painting done on larger than life panel! Killer shot here Daniel and the whiteout conditions made it so precious. TFS. Loi

    Very nice image, Daniel.
It tells the story of what we and the wildlife experience this winter.
At least we have shelter, they don't.

I love this! The composition is very nice, visually balanced, my eyes are kept busy in a good way. Of course the technicals rock...no surprise there. I'm suprised that you achieved that kind of catchlight on the center bird, in these conditions...enhanced catchlight or natural?

    Daniel,

I keep coming back to this one. The first time I saw it I thought just having the lone snow bunting would be good. I change my mind, you've nailed it. I also thought a touch more contrast would be good. Nah, you nailed that too. Make sure you get this one printed.

This has to be one of my favorite images from your collection. Just had to let you know

    It has all been said.
Love the simple twigs and the leading lines they create.
One of your best images dan!

Just opened this and I have to say its a real captivating image Daniel. Love how the bird in front is so prominent and the others still add balance. Killer techs and the two branches balance it out even better. Nice vision, perfectly executed.
