While common, Sanderling in the right light on a black jetty with the blue ocean as a backdrop can look quite striking. Such was the case when I spotted this one among a group of sandpipers and turnstones on Barnegat Jetty in NJ.

Super exposure and details on this little sanderling. You sure made him big in the frame, and I love it against the blue BG. Nice angle, and I like the rocks as a perch. All came together nicely.

Exposure & detail look great Rob, lovely BG, maybe clone out the small catch light in the centre of the eye.

Nice image, beautiful little bird. Fun to watch them run in and out following the waves.

Gorgeous bird and I love how it pops against the blue bg. Love the perch and the clear look at the feet.
Whites, although not blown, look hot on my monitor. Some spots with RED upto 254. Easy to tame if you so choose.
    Very nice image. TFS.

Hi Rob. Lovely pose and that beautiful Barnegat BG. The exposure brought out the detail nicely in the feet. Maybe worth toning down the whites just a tad to get some more detail in the brightest parts, if possible. And a little bit of halo above the bill. But the crisp white bird against the blue of the inlet is stunning.

Nice exposure and details. Iq is very nice. A little sharpening halo around the top of the beak. Easy fix.

You are right about this bird looking great on the dark rock perch against the beautiful blue background! I like the standing pose with clear view of the feet. Head angle perfect. Perhaps a tad large in the frame, and you could use the burn tool to dark what appears to be a lighter oof element along the bottom of the frame (try a soft brush with a 8-10% opacity, repeat if necessary).
