A very nice picture f something I can easily identify, nice to see another poster from South Africa. One day I must visit the Kgalagadi Park.

Sweet subject and an image that really works well for me Margo. I like the general comp, the sharpness, the exposure and the wings as is. (Oh and welcome to BPN as well)

A superb photo of a tawny, Margo. I agree with all of Geurt's comments. The image gives the viewer an idea of the power and grace of this superb species.

Good gliding pose you got here. For presentation purposes I would brighten the catchlight (I am sure it is more apparent full-size). Also there is a particular spot behind the bird that looks more like a dust bunny...even if it is not I would fix it anyhow.

I really like the upturned fingers on the primaries. Excellent exposure and bg. Nice one Margo. Perhaps share your exif here?

Hi margo and welcome to BPN. This is a nice image, love the BG, the complimentary colors and the bird pose. Sharp and well exposed. Would love to see the tail. Please can add the technical details of the image? :)

That's a beautiful bird. Nice pose and the BG colors go well with the subject.

Thanks for the comments. Did not realise that site does not automatically pick up exif data hence will include this on future postings.

There are a few free downloadable exif viewers that let us see all the info, but it is best pratcice and highly encouraged to include such data in the original thread - as well as any other info pertinent to the creating of the photograph :-)

    I can see that this image's techs are: Canon 1D MII N, 1/3200s., f/7.1, ISO400, 700mm, -0.3 EC, no flash.
