    Sweet image. I think they can dig through concrete with those claws.

    Thanks for commenting, Charles. People frequently don't comment on my captive wildlife images (although, for some of us, captive is often the best we can manage). The enclosure where he is kept has a concrete layer under the dirt to keep him from escaping (I don't know how thick the concrete layer is).

    Really cute image. Your detail is super and the DOF is just right. Love those claws!! RE the issue of captive photography my take is that as long as you disclose the images still fill the function of presenting rather elusive animals in a way that educates the public about them. Keep them coming!!

    Exposure is well handled for the light you had - I wonder if cropping slightly from bottom and RHS will improve this?
