    Stuart:

    Rather a large subject for a macro lens!

    I like the lighting, strong sense of depth to the image, some cloud detail to add interest to the sky, colors in the sky play well with the bird.

    Comp is a bit snug. but works for the lines in the image.

    Good detail though image a little small. Fantastic flight pose but with added interest. Superb image.

    Oh to do bird photography with a 180mm lens! You Floridians have it pretty good! I like the light, sharpness, and behavior. Wing position, particularly the near wing, could be a little better.

    Lovely image Stuart. I have watched these herons carry sticks from one end of the marsh to the other when many were closer. To carry it must be a special stick. Wonderful light.
