Female Boat-tailed Grackle
I captured this image in November at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. At that time the Boat-tailed Grackles were in there heavy.
Nikon D7000, Nikon 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6, VRII AF shot at 300mm, 1/500, f/8, ISO 280, normal processing in Lightroom 5

Excellent light, details and bg.
Nice light, neat perch and accessories, and good BG. Althougj I like the perch I'd consider toning down the large leaf as it competes for attention with the subject. A better head angle slightly towards us would have been excellent. There seems to be a slight softness to the face and eye...do not be afraid to bump your ISO to give you more SS to help freeze the action (birds often turn their heads swiftly back and forth and this can create subject movement blur.) I like the vertical comp you gave your image...very well balanced.
The head looks a little soft on my monitor, that apart I love the colour of the bird which blends beautifully with that nice Bg,cropping looks good also.
