    Welcome to BPN, Joe.
Exposure looks great and I love your low shooting angle. The clean fg merging with the bg does indeed give it a glass appearance.
Imo this image would have been far more successful it the bird wasn't angled away from the viewer.
Thanks for sharing and keep t hem coming.

Joe, here's a big welcome to BPN!! Love the low angle, well done getting way low! I also like the exposure, and soft reflection. It is almost always better to have the subject's body and head angled slightly towards us, or at very least parallel to the sensor, to give us a better connection with it. Careful also to make sure critical focus is on the eye and face...here the face looks soft as compared to the tail. Looks like you had nice light, and good job with the colours.

Hoping to see more from you...and don't be shy to critique others' works too.

Welcome Joe! Canvasbacks are great, with either a clean head or a muddy one. I like your low angle and the calm water. Daniel hit the nail on the head with his critique; the image would be stronger if the bird was angled slightly towards you, and if you achieved critical focus on the head.

Thanks guys I shot several good head-ons (including one I sold today to a call company for their blister packaging background) but went with the first because it's something different.

Man FB hosting killed the sharpness on that last one. Both look the same editing on the screen but then the same hosting changes things that much

The second shot has good eye contact but it's pretty OOF.
