    Default Little Blue Heron

    I captured this image this past summer from my kayak at a wildlife refuge island located in Barnegat Light, NJ. I saw the heron on my way back from shooting several hours on the water. I positioned myself behind some tall reeds and took several shots. I then maneuvered myself in front of the reeds and pushed off towards the heron capturing this image.

    Nikkor 300mm w/1.4x teleconverter
    1/1600
    f/5.6
    ISO 400

    Manual exposure
    Hand held from a kayak

    Beautiful image Rob. Great IQ and BG. Pity about the blurred read directly in front of the heron, otherwise really awesome.

    Lovely image! I love this kind of photos of herons/egrets between the grass.
