I took this image during a trip to Hopewell Rocks National Park with John Chardine.
We waited by the nest for 6 hours before the parent came back to check on the chick. John said that up until that day, the parents had been returning every half hour to feed the chick but on this particular day they only flew in once.
It was a long wait but had fun with John and it was nice to meet him.

Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

Applaud your persistence, Gail. A peregrine is definitely worth the wait. Love the lookback pose adn the gnarly trunk.

Beautifully detailed on the back, agree on the pose, maybe a bit hot on top of the head. (being a newbie, I hope that is ok, though this forum seems very honest) Well worth the wait indeed.

My favorite bird and this is a real pretty one. Nice pose as she looks back over her territory. Too bad you didn't get some more opps but at least you got this keeper. Very nice natural shot Gail.
