    Default pied-billed grebe with catch

I know the subjects are dark, but that is how the scene looked to me when I push the shutter. The bird got close to the shore after catching this fish - probably to remain inconspicuous to the gulls and the like, who would want to steal this catch. Taken yesterday @ early morning at Greenlake in Seattle.

Fish is awesome, maybe a bit off the right and a tad CW rotation.
    Nicely seen and taken.

Thanks Dan. I did notice the need for CW rotation after I posted... ;)

Hi Enrique, great view of the large eye of the grebe, and thats a fair size catch for a little guy. Love the colour of the water, and agree on some CW rotation.

Nothing to add to the above...but I would like to congratulate the bird for the catch! You were lucky to witness the event.

It will certainly know when it's swallowed that fish, the smooth water and the BG really make it for me.
