Hi Gail, good flight pose with the raised wings, and you certainly know how to expose these guys well enough - both blacks and whites showing good detail. I like that we can distinquish that the BG are pin/fir trees covered in snow.

The head turn on this flight does the trick for me in here, its truly special
Exposure is lovely and the details on the whites are lovely, interesting looking BG

Sweet pose and exposure, Gail. Love the head turn.
Hope you don't mind me being honest: although the bg gives a great sense of the place/environment, the blobs of snow pull my eye away. I'd have shot wide open or f6.3 here. Of course, this is very subjective and debatable, but just my honest opinion.

I love the BG habitat here (and I appreciate Sid's constructive honesty...that's what BPN is about). The subject looks pretty good too!

I do not mind at all- that is why I post on BPN. To get honest feedback.
Truth be told, I agree with you and posted the image to see if others minded the busy BG.
I may play with the BG to see if I can minimize the impact but still retain the tree and snow vision.

Gail, Here's my take on the background. I love it, but, the tree tops keep attracting my eye away from the bird...no idea why. When I do a browser scroll and eliminate them, problem solved. I think that the image has great winter feel to it.

This one really has a great sense of speed to it. I like the Eagles pose, wing position and the cracked open beak. The natural BG looks good to me but I feel the same as Grace about the tree tops. Nice work.

I really like what you were going for Gail and don't mind the OP.
I just lightened, blurred the BG some more and cropped at bit.
Not sure if it is an improvement but tried anyway, hope you don't mind….
Tough one, too much detail and it overwhelms, too little and you are not sure what the BG is?
