Default Bearded Dragon ( Captive )

During my stay in Cape Town over december, we visited a place called Butterfly World. All indoors, where the butterflies are free to fly in controlled enviroments to suit their natuaral habitat. There are also enclosures with various lizards, Iguana's and these guys. There were quite a few in this particular enclosure, and there was only a small wall that I could lean over to capture a couple of shots. This was the only bearded dragon that was active, and I chose this pose. The BG is the back of the enclosure.

Hi Stu, interesting character, I like the colour palette and how everything blends in, no doubt for obvious reasons.

I might think about a tighter crop, although I like space, perhaps in this instance there might be a little too much to the left & above, if IQ allows? At 1/80 you did really well. Like the posture and slight head tilt.

Hi Stu - this works very well. I like the comp, color tones, detail and dof. It is often difficult to get good shots of captive animals given the limitations and obstacles sometimes placed in the way (e.g. glass, walls, lighting, etc). I hope you got some good butterfly shots too.

    Rachel

Thanks a stack Steve and Rachel.

Rachel, I managed a few butterfly shots, but most of the time, they were busy flying all over the place.

Beautiful capture. I like the pose and composition a lot. The crop is about right for me, too. I like the way the dragon is apparently looking straight at the camera with its left eye.

I like the picture, including the space. The rough skin is complimented by the smooth back ground.

Nice pose and I like the way the colours are all uniform and working together for a smooth palette in the shot, Stu.
I might sharpen the head a weeeee bit more?
