    I spotted this great egret at Bombay Hook, DE.

    Canon 1Dn Mark II, 1/2000, F-5.6, ISO 640, Canon EF 400 5.6.

    I like the pose Bill! Sharpness is fine, and so are exposure and eye contact. I would probably clone over the bright spots in the area above the egret's head.

    Hi Bill Probably the best image possible from your location. Exposure and sharpness good. Good head angle. Framing wise it is very tight and the toes are clipped. The most distracting part are the oof white spots which are too numerous to clone out !!!

    Thanks Doug for the comments .. especially about the spots, where breaks in the leafy background let in light from the cloudy sky.
    It would be a much more pleasing image with solid green in that section of the photo.

    And Alfred, thanks too for your comments. I note that you agree with Doug regarding the bright spots.
    As for the tight framing, that is a full-frame capture. I was just that close to the bird, and couldn't move back.
