What a cool species to get in flight, Karl. You've got a great pose, flight angle in great light. Nice comp too.
I'd open up the shadows - some blacks seem blocked. You have a winner here.

Hi Karl, excellent flight pose with the full downstroke of the wings. I like the browns of the scoter against the blues of the water. Thats an interesting shape around the eye. I agree with Sid to try and open up the shadow area around the tail area. Comp wise, as he is flying upwards, I would him lower in the frame. Well captured.

Hi Karl. Tough bird to catch in flight. Well done. Nice flight angle before he got past you. Ditto the advice above. And maybe a touch of additional sharpening.

The flight shot is wonderful. Nice flight angle with my favorite wing position. The BG works good.

Looks good to me too. Nice wing position and pose on this cool looking duck. Good eye contact and the exposure and detail look great. Well done Karl.
