I continue to find images that I took last Summer, but not process for one reason or another. Hope you like this one.

P.S. The NEC monitor goes back due to damage in shipping, but the cheapo HP IPS doesn't seem too bad actually.

Hi Loi - Definitely worth going back and processing this one. Perfect comp for me with good techs and dof. If it were mine I would open up the midtones just a tiny amount more and also reduce the yellows.

    Rachel

Hi Rachel, good call. I see the Yellow creeping thru the grass now. I also used Curves to open the mid tone a tad. Hope it is moving in the right direction.

Sanjeeve, glad you like it. thank you.

Hi Loi, compositionally i feel this is the best to date. There is a nice amount of space all round, the subjects for me are at the right angle to you and the layer colours of the background typify the location.

Techs look good and you had the right balance of kit to hand. I just took you OP back into LR, dropped the Red & Yellow -50, Darks -5, Shadow -20 just to add some more contrast, all personal taste, so perhaps this may help? Obviously you refine it further with the RAW and you may wish to adjust other parts. Nice to retain some depth & tone within the tusks. I also feel you can add some more sharpening too.

Agree with Steve - perfect composition. Grass coming up in front of calf is beautiful and not distracting. Adds a nice touch I think. I think Steve has reduced the warmth a little too much for my liking, but I think his colours are right on, as usual.

Hi Steve, thank you for working on this image, I'm out shooting Burrowing Owls now, so will take a look when I get back. I'm on the iPad and can't see much difference with respect to the OP. You are. Right, the monitor is the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

BTW, the wife loves this picture too, so she won't ridicule me for spending money on a new monitor :). Budget is not an issue luckily.

thank you everyone for your comments. Much appreciated it.

    Hi Steve

Thanks again for working on this image. I see the Yellow evidence now in the grass. Went back to LR5, i had increased the exposure by +0.36EV, so dropped it back to 0, changed the color temp from 5600K to 5300K, dropped the Yellow and Red by -40. Then in CS6, applied another round of sharpening, UMS 120/0.3.0 followed by 60/0.3/0. I think the RP here addressed the issue you raised. I like it better. Loi
