    Default White-throated Dipper

    Hello,

on Saturday we went to our White-throated Dipper. The bird incubates year for the year under the bridge.
But, there was an new bridge. No chance to nest and we have not seen a White-throated Dipper.
We inform our nature protection office about this mistake. They promise a nest hole to attach.
I hope the bird come back. This is an older image.

Holger love the way the water ripples over the perch adds real movement to the image, I cannot see anything that I would like to change, very nice indeed.

What a pretty bird, Holger. Love his perch and how the water is flowing over it.
It's so great that there's such a thing as Nature Protection Office and kudos to you for making them aware of the mistake.

Gorgeous colours and pose. When i see some of the birds from other countries I am hopeful to capture their image someday. Thanks, I did not know of this dipper-we have our American Dipper [Water Ouzel] that is starting to nest now in the mountains with 2-3 feet of snow on the ground.

Awesome species and capture Holger - the water really makes this image - perfectly depicts the bird's environment

Holger good dipper shots are always rewarding to see, and this is one of them! Great exposure, nice low angle and the frame is just the right size to convey a little of the habitat, frequently dippers place themselves against busy waters leading to fussy backgrounds but this one is just right.

Hi Holger, a good looking bird here, and well exposed on the whites - the plumage shows up very well. Of course he could have flown away, but I like how he is perched just above the fast flowing water. I would maybe blend in the lighter area of the BG.

Good one - almost identical to the sites I have on our little brook in the forest. We have several pairs and they use the same sites every year if they can. Typicaldipper stance, in "mid blob" as they say. No idea why they do go up and down all the time!!
    Great picture.

    Hi Holger -

This is really awesome. I love the brown tones in the bird and in the log and how they complement each other so much. And the water flowing over the branch is really nice. Did you hand hold this or use a tripod? 800mm and a TC must be very heavy that's really amazing you got this so sharp if it was hh. Bye, Ashleigh

    Hi Ashleigh,
i used tripods from Berlebach. Berlebach is a German company which manufactures wood tripods. The tripods are very stable and without (almost no) vibration. But they are heavy.
