I went to a nearby marsh last weekend in hopes of getting some images of Gadwalls. Ice on the marsh had most of the ducks concentrated on one little patch of open water that was concealed by phrags. This is about all I came home with, but at least I wasn't empty-handed. I love the patterns on the plumage of this species. C&C appreciated.
Agree with other comments, terrific sharpness and display of the feather patterns. The water drops add even more interest and the background really compliments the gadwall. If this was what ll I came home with, I'd be more than happy. Nicely done.
Nicely done. I love the pattern of vermiculations if that is the right word. In an ideal world, the duck would have been parallel to the imaging sensor. At least for my tastes.

Thank you all. I personally like the slight angle toward me, but should have addressed it with a stop or two for better DOF. Yes, I'd guess that vermiculation is a good word to describe a part of his lovely pattern.
