    Hi,

It has been a long long time since I have posted on the Avian forum. I may have posted a version of this image a few years ago but my knowledge of the Digital Darkroom was basic to say the least.
I have been fortunated to have had this image chosen as Runners -up in the BBC WPTY Portraits 2013 and it has been published in this months National Geographic.

So I just wanted to share and to acknowledge all the help I have received thru the years from Art and the team at BPN. Without this help I would not have achieved my goals.

    So Thank You !

Hi Peter, I'm glad you posted this, many people may not have had a chance to see this image when you first posted it, also it's great to see it got the accolation it deserved.

So I just wanted to share and to acknowledge all the help I have received thru the years from Art and the team at BPN. Without this help I would not have achieved my goals.
Peter, it's also great that when time permits, you also share your thoughts in comments too.

A very unusual image. Congratulations !
A dramatic image full of motion.
I love the dust and the low to the ground position. I like the way the beak and eye are just peeking through the veil of dust.
Your low POV really elevates this image.
I realize this was a contest entry so nothing could be deleted but for "my print" I would get rid of the 2 dark smudges on the right and the white area at the top (is that a feather?) in a New York minute. If that white area is a feather, I can see why you kept it, I just wish it was more distinct and identifiable as a feather.
I like this composition but think a version with the white area cropped out would be nice as well.
Regardless of what my critique is, the image is a winner, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt!!

I always follow the BBC WPTY awards and saw this before I joined the forum. I really liked this when I first saw this. I really love the whole posture and dramatic sand in the air. Any chance of seeing the one you posted before?
