Dan think just a bit more of a head turn would have just made this image even though you look to have eye contact between the birds,do like the water and the interaction between the birds.

Hi Dan, I like this lots. Excellent interaction from both, but the spread wings of the male and the 'defensive' pose puts this over the top. I do like the the detail and colours of the male, and overall, tack sharp.
