Here's a Juvie Grey Heron on the left asking parent for more food. The parent seems totally unmoved with the juvie's actions. Taken early morning at the end of last year.

Lovely image Stuart. Your Grey Heron looks very similar to the Great Blue Heron in Florida only smaller.

Nice looking natural shot Stuart. The begging baby with its hackels raised adds to the image and the techs look great. I like the distant BG that you captured. Well done.

Wonderful image Stuart. The light quality is excellent, as is the action and storytelling aspect of the image. Sweet little window in the sticks that you managed on the parent bird's legs too. Little details like that make such a difference between a good image and a great one. I don't know how unmoved the parent bird is....looks like it's about to hack something up for dinner :)

Hey Stu, great interaction captured that tells the story so well. These juvies seem to have insatiable appetites. No respite for a parent as is conveyed by the expression. Nice light, setting and bg.
The crest feathers on the adult (the shorter ones on the right) seem a bit blurred - possibly bled into your selection for BG NR?

Thanks Sid. With regards to the crest feathers, I had a look at the original and it seems they look that way - see attached. Im assuming you are looking at where the darker ones meet the lighter ones.

Thank you everyone for your feedback too.

    .
Those are the ones, Stu, indeed they're naturally soft. Thanks for checking.

    This is really nice Stuart.
You are putting your new 300mm to good use!
Good behavior captured here and I like the clean BG. Excellent light as well.
