Default Snowy Owl testing the waters

Here is an image from a drinking series I was fortunate to capture last Sunday. Unfortunately when it started drinking it turned away from me.

    Duane:

I must say, I haven't seen a snowy in the water before! Well exposed, sharp, great eye contact.

I wouldn't mind the bird being a bit to the left in the frame.

Would have been an interesting one to shoot from varying heights, to play with the positioning of the golden water and far shoreline in relationship to birds head.

    Congrats on this unusual capture!

    Cheers

    Randy

You guys (Peter and Randy) must not have seen Duane's previous Snowy image where he's got it BATHING!!! Check it out if you have the chance.

This image is top notch, Duane, and boy does she stand out against that blue. You had a good low shooting angle. The eyes are very powerful. I would place the owl a bit more to the left of the frame. For this particular owl pose, I think a more centered approach would be most beneficial to showcase the owl.
