    Default Inspection

This is a Ruddy Turnstone , wader found on our shores during winters.

It was a really interesting day on last saturday went to the beach to attempt on clicking the waders , went with a bean bag and the 400 however realised when i went down to crawl that my bad back couldn't support it at all, pretty bad.
So sat there looking around, turnstones were there with some sand plovers , they were trying to look around any round objects on the beach, may it be stones , coconuts, shells. Saw one bird look at this coconut and decided to just lay there and wait for my bird to come , took me some time when one guy decided to come up to this coconut and inspect it.

Its always fun when you can plan a shot and it turns out as expected.

I like the low angle, visible feet, BG, exposure and composition. The raised foot gives the impression he might try kick the coconut over. Interesting image Vishal.

Ha! There's even a crack in the coconut - looks like this guy does more than just turn stones.
Where was this captured, if you don't mind me asking.
Wouldn't it have been cool if the coconut wasn't peeled - there'd be no "hand of man" involved

    Sidharth,
The place is Akshi , near Alibaug on Western Coast line, as you know in India the cocunut offering is a lot and its left in the sea, this is one washed in with the waves .

    Arash,

This is not a big crop nearly 70% of the orginal frame.

you may want to use smaller radius when sharpening to avoid detail looking coarse

What a unique turnstone image! The low angle eye level work is just right imo as both feet and just a nice little thin layer of ground fall within the plane of focus. Great pose on the bird. Nice use of space. The whites of the bird look a little grey....in what appears to be strong directional light quality, I would expect the whites of the turnstone to be much brighter/whiter. I've read that this species is one of the only shorebird species to be observed foraging on human remains!
