    Neil:

Really nice display of this little fellow, erect crest, harmonious colors, good pose.
    Nice light.

The perch is a bit massive for my tastes, and I might try some modest cropping to downplay its bulk a bit.

    Cheers

What a lovely bird and a sweet-looking image. Love the color palette with the gradient BG and how well it matches the bird and perch. The bird stands out so well with his crest up that the size of the perch isn't an issue for me.

Classy image of a classy looking bird. Excellent subject isolation against the ultra smooth background. The vignette...meh...stylish I suppose. The location of your bright white signature is a bit disruptive in this otherwise class image...

Very nice image indeed, a species I am looking forward to photographing one day. I thought at first it was all just a little dark then I realised it would of course have been dark in the woods! I like the pose, and being very critical now, the bird is not having that slight engaging glance toward the camera.
I am not too sure about the vignette - it looks pretty but perhaps a little too apparent?
I would suggest you place your name away from the subject but you may of course have decided that is precisely where you definitely do want it, in which case please ignore the suggestion.

Thank you for the replies. Perch is a bit big, yes it is, not a huge fan of "bird on a twig" shots. These guys live in the woods and forage in the rotting trees and wot not, that is where I wanted him ;) I add some dark corners on the left as the right was darkened by a tree trunk in the BG and I did not want to crop it down.

Copyright is right where it needs to be, everyone should try using Google to find their shots on the web ;) I promise they are all over the place. :)

Knock out picture of this lovely bird. I love their red eyes! Perch is Ok for me in fact my only nit is the vignette. I don't dis-like it but would like to see a version slightly softer. Well done Neil, looking forward to more :)
