The bird, perch and background are all very attractive.
The green-gold gradient background is very appealing.

    Things you might consider changing:
You might selectively brighten the darks in the image, especially on the perch. If you look at the histogram you can see that the tonal range doesn't show much above the mid-tones. By doing selective rather than global brightening you won't loose the highlight details of the birds face.

It is hard to judge noise without seeing the image full-size but I believe I'm seeing color noise in the upper back.
Lastly you might consider a counter-clockwise rotation.

Classic GT post and shot but I would be more concerned about the noise in the little fellow, can certainly see some red splotches over his back (which gave it away as a 7D shot ;) ) Easily fixed in PS or LR (colour noise that is).

Chis I was not sure about the noise until Neil confirmed my thoughts, very nice detail on the bird and the BG is superb.

Your bird looks OUTSTANDING!!! What amazing details, colors and sharpness you have. I am guessing you went darker with all but the bird to make the bird stand out, and I like it as is. The pose is killer too.

    Hi Chris
It does look slightly "crunchy" to me as if slightly over "levelled" But no big deal. Maybe its me or my my monitor but it looks generally fine to me.certainly detail where its needed. Nice variation on a perch too- gone is the"twig" idea !!
    Cheers

A very nice shot. Bit of an unusual perch and I liked it.
Yes a bit of noise is showing up, which can be managed I guess.

Hi Chris, great pose, super bkg and light, perch is nice with the mosses. The feather edges on the back (primaries) look a bit over sharpened to me, other than that great!
