    Default BCNH 2nd Try

After the unanimous comments about a busy BG on my last BCNH, I went back out for another attempt with BG in mind. 20D, 400DO + 1.4xTC, f7.1, 1/800s, ISO 400, -1/3 EC, Eval Mtr, Tripod mount, Slightly cropped.

    HI Steve,

Thank you for considering our critiques. This is what is all about!!

I like the composition and amazing colors in the BG. The open beak is a nice plus.

    Keep them coming!

Very well done. Love the light, the sharpness, the head angle, and the squawk. And of course the sweet, sweet BKGR. My only suggestion for improvement would be for you to have moved one-half step to your left, just enough to center the bird in the two darkest reflections...

Hi Steve. I like the pose, the sharpness, and the composition. I was going to comment about placing the bird in the darker area of the background (which you have mostly done), but I see Artie already covered that. Well done.

It's like a perch in the middle of a lake of molten copper. What a wonderful and unusual color you captured. I'm wishing for maybe a little less contrast on the bird. ... although when I think about it more it might just be the LCD monitor I'm viewing with. Everything seems to have a bit more contrast on this screen even though it's calibrated.

Maxis, the critiques and quality of the posters are why I signed on here.
Artie, Steve, to be honest, I didn't even notice the dark lines in the BG. Something else to keep in mind for next time.

Two things I like, 1) the copper color water 2) the shiny coat look to the bird. Of course the open beak adds here to. But the colors make this one.

I'll add that I like how you've got the bird lit up. Nicely done!
