Yesterday I was at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. I captured this spoonbill feeding along Black Point Wildlife Drive. Sorry about the typo in the title it should be ... Roseate Spoonbill, I tried to edit it but could not.

    Nikon D7000, 70-300mm 4-5.6 VRII AF shot at 300mm (450 FFE), 1/500, f/8, ISO 125, -2/3 EV

I like the sharpness, HA, water reflections on the body and exposure. I would rotate the image a little CCW. Nice image Joe.

A nice sharp image, good color and well controlled exposure. Maybe take a little off the right and bottom?

Nice colours on this beautiful breeding individual. Good details. Perhaps a touch strong on the contrast though and I agree with some CCW rotation needed. Don't be shy to raise the ISO...you'll get better shutter speeds to help freeze the action should the subject become more active.

Thank you all for viewing and making suggestions on improving my spoonbill image. I have tried to implement those suggestions in this image. Dan, I will remember about a higher shutter speed. I do have images of this spoonbill shot at 1/1250 but the water had become choppy making the background not as smooth.
