    Hi -

    Canon EOS 5D MIII
    Canon 500mm f/4L IS II USM + 1.4xTC

Gitzo Tripod, shot from highway outside of Jackson, WY

    ISO 250
    f/7.1
    1/640s

The sky was overcast so it was a good chance to get nice exposure on the white coat. I cropped about 10% off. I think my crop is a little too tight right now and I think he needs more room above him and to the right.

I only did some minor sharpening to the goat.

Please let me know what you think, thanks Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh - this really shows off the winter coat nicely. You've handled the tough white on white exposure very well with excellent detail in the coat. I like the 3-D quality to the image. I think you can bring out a bit more detail in the fg snow, one way would be through a luminosity mask. Overall very well done.

    Hi Ashleigh,
nice one , better processed as the previous one.Good job on getting the exposure right with all the light tones.
I agree about yourself being a bit tight now, so i would go for the original without the crop.
For me the snow is looking quite good in the FG , enough detail visible. But i think the goat could stand some more depth, so i tried to get a bit more …
Look for sharpening halos around the horn and the leaves on the ground !!!!

Yes, I think the crop is a little tight, but I really like it otherwise. Andreas's efforts have boosted it a tad, but you did the hard work in the first place. Nice job.

Hi Ashleigh, nice to see one in the snow.

Would have preferred more head than butt angle, but in Wildlife it's not always that easy . Rather than a Luminosity I might be tempted with a Channel adjustment to bring up a bit more contrast and adjust with the Opacity slider to get the desired look & feel, obviously via a mask. Andreas I feel has taken it in the way it needs to go and having some more detail in the snow is good IMHO, but also think it could stand some more selective sharpening. Nice to see you pushing the ISO to get the SS & DOF.
