    Default On the Fly

    A juvenile Black-headed Gull, making the most of mass emergence of flies on a local beach at the weekend, they were very successful at it too.

    Manual Exposure
    Hand Held.

    I like the running pose, sharpness, composition and wing position on the fly. I would have liked a lower shooting angle but its fine as presented. Nice behaviour/action image Joe.

    This is a fun image, Joe. Agree that an even lower pose would have made the insect and behavior stand out even more, but I really like this with the running pose and extended neck on the gull.

    I agree with Marina, this is such a fun image! I also agree with a lower angle but it is a smile maker as is...any image that invokes an emotion is a succesful one

    Like the behavior, the striding pose, and the sharpness. As pointed out above, a lower angle would have put the bird's head against a blue BG; that would have made the image stronger.
