Red squidger
A bit of a classic pose. Been lurking here for a while but finally joined, how long before I can upload images?

Hi Neil, I've approved your post so no need to wait matey.
Join, it's much more fun.
I assume this is one from a lunchtime jaunt out? Nice complimentary BKG and sets the 'Red' off well. The 'stash' was nicely arranged and a classic with he/she having a bite. Good detail, clarity & sharpness and overall composition, as I would expect. Look forward to more, plus hopefully we can get you to participate too in other threads. We try to work on a 1-5 ration, one post to five replies where possible.
Neil, can you also add f/stop, EV comp, ISO etc, just helps, also in the PP stage any cloning etc, just helps. If you haven't yet, have a read of this, it may help.

Very nice colours, pose and everything that Steve mentioned! Good work.
Only thing that I wonder about is whether the tail was really far enough behind the plane of focus to be so much out of focus. I guess it was, but I wonder how it might look to add a little sharpening or clarity to the tail, just to bring it back a bit... Just an idle thought.
Otherwise it's spot on and I like his afro crest!

NP Steve, I have paid but could not find the attach button ;) I am sure I have replied a few time in the past but cannot remember posting 'owt. Exif I will have to dig out.
Ed, the tail is soft as shooting at f4 so close you really do not get much DOF but without light what can one do :| I prefer to have more shutter speed as their little cheeks move like lightning, even 1/400 was puishing it.

Hi Neil,
welcome here on BPN in the wildlife part of it.
Very good starting image of a cute animal.NIce setup with the eating pose, good fall colors and lots of detail shown.
The BG is a real stunner.
Just asking curious about the fall off of sharpness in the squirrel , very abrupt the sharpness starts and ends ? any reason you know?

Either my PP skills or shooting at almost MFD and the squidger being at an odd angle. This was as Steve said an dinner hour in the park near work, all the nice brown leaves are going black... although the spring plants have started to grow again :o
Thanks all for the comments and help.
