I tried to incorporate as much as possible the advise of moderators in this forum in this picture.
Background uncluttered.head turn, feet in picture etc.
Details: Early morning autumn image, ( 3 days ago )
Pentax K10D and Tamron zoom @ 300mm plus Tamron 1.4 Tele converter.
ISO was 1600 which in retrospect was too much. 1/3000 @ F5.6. Multi segment metered.

Nice background and compo, you needed fill flash to pull this one with the side light shadowing most of the detail in front of the birds. Maybe fill light in coversion would hel here.

Hi Ian! Fill flash was a definite must in this situation. Agree that ISO 1600 was overkill, and I suspect that the lack of feather detail is largely due to noise reduction. Fabs has a couple of good points too. Thanks for posting!

    Hi Lan,

Besides what already mentioned, I think the birds are too centered in the frame.

    Keep them coming!

You sure did Ian !!! All you need now is the sun angle !!!!! For back lit images you need flash and lots of it !!! Also the compensation is on the plus side for the ambient light !!! Do like a lot what you have here !!! btw neat looking birds !!!!
