    Default Female Mountain Bluebird

This was shot at Dave Salems and mine favorite location. These fast flying migrants have given us many challenging hours of trying to capture flight shots while they hunt for insects. The shadow area on the head area and leading edges of the wings bother me a little. I downsized and sharpened this time, does it need more?

Great pose and lovely colour on that bird. BG is sweet too

Repost with extra sharpening from Arash is much better. I too have the problem of not knowing if I have sharpened enough or not

Nice flight shot Glenn, these guys are tricky. Yes to more sharpening, and I would maybe try to bring back the face/neck shadows a bit. Great job freezing the action and not clipping any body/wing parts.

    Keep them coming!

Thanks Arash, I had it that way originally and then I back-off a bit because it looked slightly crunchy, maybe I am too close to my monitor?

Lovely image great pose I would certainly sharpen the first image a little more, the last image maybe not quite so much on the wings and tail but the head is certainly better.

Beautiful capture! Great HA and wing spread. RP brings out detail on head and neck, but tail is a bit too bright for me.

Just beige and blue with no other colors to distract.
Just the bird without a hint of anything else.
And that perfect flair of the wings and tail.
    Simple, elegant and effective.

This def does not look crunchy, it could be your monitor, what are you using?

    Hi Glenn,

This is a gorgeous bird with a perfect wingspread and tail fan. I like the head angle and the background is complementary to the colors of the bird. IMO the shadows in the OP are fine.

These guys are small and fast, so this is a really great shot with good details an dingos light. The RP does not look crunchy to my eye. Love the colors and simple image design. TFS. Loi

Hi Glenn, great inflight pose, shows off the full wings and fanned tail nicely. Love the blues on these guys, and Arash's repost takes this up a few notches.

Extremely beautiful flight pose with lovely symmetrical wing position and fanned tail and nice HA.
Love the magical shades of blues on the bird.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Great shot with perfect wing positions to see the detail on the top. I like Arash's sharpened version too.

Oh my Glenn, this is SWEET! Arash just added the extra sharpening punch it needed. Fantastic blue on tan colours.
