    Default Purple Heron

    Hello,

in Germany it's foggy, raining and dark. Day for day. Time to look at the photos of the past year
Here another image from the purple heron saison last year. Only three more months. Then they come back

Holger, I really love the setting and overcast light here. The composition with the heron's pose and the lines of the reeds is awesome! I would add more space on the sides if you have it, the upper bird is pretty cramped by the width of the frame. You created an unusual and cool image, well done!

Holger you have got a very different image here which I like a lot, agree a bit more space on each side would be better and in a perfect world with the Tern flying toward us would have been icing on the cake, great moment captured beautifully only wish it was mine.

Super shot - wow what timing - superb, I try not to read previous comment before writing mine but I did notice the reference to a little more width and I would agree.

    Great moment captured here.
I feel that you can go a bit brighter on the overall exposure. Do you have more room all around?

Hi Holger, the colours are spot on on the heron, and love the surprised look on his face - those eyes. Great timing to capture the incoming bird. Luckily, you didnt cut off any of the wing tips. I presume you were shooting vertical to suit the pose of the heron, and the bird flew into your frame.

Excellent image Holger! I like the defensive pose of the Heron, raised crest, action, IQ and the way the Heron is clutching the multiple grass perch.

    Thanks everyone for your comments
I shot the Image horizontally and cropped it vertically. It is no more room at top and bottom. But at the right side and left side i have space.
